The internship provides students of our department the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in work environments of public or private organizations. Students become familiar with the work environment and gain professional experience. The internship also aims to create opportunities for professional rehabilitation in private-sector speech therapy providers.
Students of the department of speech and language therapy are required to undertake an internship during the last semester of their studies. The internship is included in the department’s curriculum as a compulsory course titled Speech and Language Therapy Internship (20 ECTS credits).
The activities that students are exposed to during the Internship include (a) implementing communication assessments for children or adults in various settings/structures (schools, special schools, speech therapy centers, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, etc.) and (b) speech therapy interventions in articulation, language, or communication for children or adults in various settings/structures (schools, special schools, speech therapy centers, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, etc.).
